About Cubs

Cubs is for young people, usually aged between 8 and 10 years. The Cub Pack is the Second Section in the Scout Group.

Cubs is a level up from Beavers. They do a lot more outdoor activities and have many more badges to work towards. Cubs also take an active part in camps where they stay out overnight in tents. At the 3rd we have two Cub Packs, Hounds and Wolves they both meet on different nights. Hounds is on Tuesdays and Wolves is on Thursdays.

Message from Akela

We are the other cub pack in the 3rd Reading Scout Group. We are the Wolves pack, and our leaders are Akela (that's me) Bagheera, Jacala and a young leader known as Chil. At the moment there are 19 boys and 2 girls in our pack. We, like the Hounds have a varied programe while mixing scouting activities with outings. Our cubs enjoy swimming and bowling both of which we do once a term if possible.

Pauline Semple (Akela)

Uniform Information

The Cub uniform is a dark green sweatshirt and the groups necker. Within the Cub Pack there are many activity and challenge badges you can earn. These badges are sewn on to the shirt.

The Cub leader will advise you when you will be required to obtain the uniform. Both the shirt and necker are available from the Reading Scout and Guide shop on Northcourt Avenue.
